Bauercrest Camp Life

Our program centers around three general activities: sports, waterfront and arts. It is weaved together by friendship and brotherhood. We take pride in that fact that most every year our entire staff returns. Many of our staff members have been at camp since they were kids; many more than ten years. Most of our campers are from the New England area, but larger and larger percentages are coming from other parts of the United States.

Campers will live with their fellow campers and counselors in one of our 20 renovated bunks, located around the hillside. Our facilities include a spacious “Mess Hall” where meals are served each day, an Arts and Crafts Center, a Rec Hall, and the out door “Smoller Chapel” where we conduct our Shabbat Services. Bauercrest has a large Health Center, open 24 hours a day, and staffed with full time Nursing and an on-call physician.

Bauercrest’s athletic facilities are second to none! The “crown-jewel” of our campus is our new spacious “Rec Hall” gymnasium used for basketball and other indoor athletic events and “all camp” functions like plays and socials. IN addition to our gymnasium, we have a large softball field with full lighting for evening play, plus a smaller baseball field for our younger campers. We also have five illuminated tennis courts, 3 regulation-sized Volleyball courts, a modern weight room, a track and two large soccer fields.

Our waterfront, on the shores of beautiful Lake Attitash, provides campers with numerous opportunities for aquatic fun. We have a large swimming area used for both our daily Red Cross Certified swim instruction and for recreational swim on those hot summer days. Our boating program allows campers to learn from experienced instructors in water-skiing, tubing, sailing, canoeing and kayaking. Bauercrest campers take advantage of two modern ski boats, numerous sailboats, and several smaller boats for rowing or paddling.

Bauercrest offers several programs for our campers, both in athletics and in other areas. Our programming strikes the appropriate balance across instruction, competition, and recreation for our campers. In addition, campers are provided with “clinic and choice” periods, where they can receive additional instruction in an activity of their choosing for a week at a time.
